Guilherme Cunha

Guilherme is very passionate about digital media with a special focus on game development. He played many great games during his childhood and that led him to learn computer programming and get a Bachelor of Computer Science from Pontificia Universidade Catolica (PUC) de Minas Gerais and a Master’s degree in Informatics from PUC Rio. Since his early days in college, he started to explore the game development world and create small game prototypes.

He began his career as a database administrator at IBM, providing support to servers and critical databases. During his Master’s, he joined the university research laboratory VisionLab where he developed his dissertation about emotion recognition using machine learning and the puzzle game Mass Reaction. In his most recent job, Guilherme was the front-end developer for the mobile version of the Brazilian soccer management game GrandChief Sports at Games4Unity Corporation. He also took contract work to create a game that was exhibited at the 2013 Semana Nacional de Ciencia e Tecnologia.

Guilherme joined the MDM program aiming to increase his knowledge in the digital media field, meet great people and improve his teamwork skills. His ultimate goal is to become a part of the ever challenging game industry.
