Over 250 of the Centre for Digital Media’s industry partners were hosted by the Master of Digital Media graduates at their SOLD OUT Industry Showcase on June 24. There were many positive impressions made throughout the evening and the night kicked off with some kind words from a few of the CDM’s past industry project partners:
The CDM’s annual signature event showcased the MDM students’ skills and creativity through team presentations and individual work on display. The students also demonstrated their communication skills; ingenuity and ability to produce real world products and solutions, and the evening resulted in many connections and follow up interviews.
This year featured a full array of inspiring digital work such as games, museum installations, apps, websites, health projects, VR, holography and much, much more. A select few project teams represented a small sampling of projects the MDM students created in the past year. A collaboration/co-creation platform, a museum installation, a dual screen game experience, a virtual hybrid drive experience, a companion game app for an animation property, and a holographic virtual host (a product of MDM alumni company, H Plus Technology)
Our Director of Industry Relations (read: Hook-Ups) Dennis Chenard summed it up well with this statement:
“I am very proud of the MDM students as they raised the bar for our annual showcase. Our industry guests also helped make the evening a success, as it was a night full of networking and exploring possibilities. We look forward to the future talent and project connections with partners old and new and say thanks again to everyone who attended, participated and supported the event.”
The 2015 showcase had an impressive turn out of companies from a variety of industry sectors including:
