Incoming MDM students Alice Tai and Andrew von Rosenbach are recipients of the 2009 EA Scholarships. The two scholarships are accompanied by a much sought after internship at one of EA’s global studios. Both Andrew and Alice possessed the right combination of academic excellence and work experience in addition to being seen as a great fit with the EA team they will join during their internship.
Alice, a graduate of Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Science in Interactive Arts and Technology, is a passionate designer and traveler. She hopes to use her expertise in interaction design to produce exciting and user-friendly technology.
Andew von Rosenbach, a graduate of the University of British Columbia with a double major in Economics and Philosophy, freelances as a stand-up comic. Andrew expects his time at the MDM will give him the tools he needs to help the world learn, laugh and live a better life through creative expression in digital media.
EA, one of the founding supporters of the Masters of Digital Media Program, has been a generous industry affiliate partner since before the program launched in 2007. As part of their global educational and talent development effort, EA has provided immeasurable input and guidance in curriculum development, offered a number scholarship opportunities, loaned several of their senior staff to guest lecture and lead agile development workshops. In addition, in 2007, EA made a $1 million grant to the MDM Program.
EA continues to demonstrate their ongoing support of the MDM Program and their commitment to digital entertainment education with these two scholarships.
