MDM Student Project Featured on CTV National News Story on Socially Responsible Gaming
MDM students were featured on CTV National News last night, in a story that asked, “Can video games create a better world?”
MDM student project group Chinchilla is working with First Nations Technology Council and Roadhouse Interactive to build a game as a way for people to learn about First Nations art and culture. Termed “Social Cause Gaming”, MDM students Ligia Brosch, Russell Kentish and Bettsina Walkinson talked with CTV about their project and how the game they’re building can be used to educate and foster acceptance.
Also featured in the segment is CDM industry partner Ayogo Games, a Vancouver-based start-up that uses games as a way to improve people’s health. Ayogo Games is located at the Centre for Digital Media.
