MDM Students Participate in Inaugural Global Game Jam

Jan 30, 2009 By Anonymous

A team of Masters of Digital Media students have signed up for the Global Game Jam, a worldwide event challenging game developers to create innovative games in just 48 hours. The Game Jam runs 5pm on Friday, January 30 until 5pm Sunday, February 1.

This is the first Game Jam for all MDM participants. However, the team is no stranger to blue sky creative development, rapid prototyping and demanding deadlines. For the past 16 months, they have lived and breathed it in the MDM Program.  Even now in their last semester, the students have elected to create twelve innovative games in four months through their company Big Hadron Games, pictured here.

Proven experts in creative thinking, programming, and time and project management, the team is looking forward to the Jam challenge. In fact, to make the Jam more interesting, several team members have upped the ante – they are using the Unity Game Engine which neither has extensively used before.

The seven person MDM team join more than 1,750 developers around the world who are participating in this marathon event.
