MDM Students Rock it at Global Game Jam 2013

VANCOUVER – January 29, 2013 – More than 20 Masters of Digital Media students and alumni participated in this weekend’s Global Game Jam in Vancouver. Students rapidly iterated on this year’s theme, heartbeat, and developed incredible games throughout the 2-day development sprint, along with more than 200 other jammers. The Game Jam, which was held in 320 different locations worldwide this year, celebrated its fifth anniversary in style according to Vancouver organizer and MDM faculty member, Dr. Kimberly Voll:

“I thought it went incredibly well. We blew out our previous record, with over 16,000 jammers. We had 270 jammers in Vancouver, when only 250 were expected and that’s 130 people more than last year. [Games created by MDM students were] fantastic. I was blown away and I was super impressed with the caliber, ingenuity and creativity in all of the games.”
