Centre for Digital Media faculty member Patrick Pennefather has been nominated for the Outstanding Sound Design or Original Composition for Large Theatre award by the Jessie Richardson Theatre Award Society. The awards, known as the Jessies, recognize significant achievement in lower mainland theatrical productions each year.
Pennefather is nominated for his contribution to Henry VI: The Wars of the Roses, which was part of Vancouver’s annual Bard on the Beach festival. The self-described “composer, songwriter, sound designer, producer, musical director, and performer” has been nominated nine times before and has won three Jessies. He was also previously nominated for Significant Achievement in an Ensemble Improvisational Musical Performance.
The 30th Annual Jessie Richardson Awards will be on Monday, June 25th at Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom.
