Scholarships for YOU at MDM!
The Masters of Digital Media (MDM) Program at the Centre for Digital Media (CDM) is excited to announce that a number of scholarship opportunities are now available for students of all different backgrounds. From free rent at the Centre’s brand new, state-of-the-art apartment building – CDM HOUSE – to multiple funding opportunities in excess of $10,000, the Centre for Digital Media has increased funding options nearly nine fold, and likely has an option to reward you for your hard work and creativity. Your scholarship options include:
Centre for Digital Media (CDM) Scholarships (entrance and returning)
A $5,000 or $10,000 CDM Scholarship is available for students who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in the digital arts and their undergraduate academic career. CDM Scholarships are renewable to students who maintain good academic standing during their studies at MDM.
Centre for Digital Media Housing Award (entrance and returning)
The CDM Housing Award provides students with exceptional academic performance, superior samples of work, and impressive letters of recommendation with rent-free living at CDM’s brand new, state-of-the-art living arrangement, CDM HOUSE. The award is renewable to students who maintain good academic standing.
Computer Science and Software Engineering Award (entrance)
$15,000 in addition to rent-free living at CDM HOUSE is awarded to a student with the best sample of work submitted during the application process.
Computer Science or Software Engineering Award (entrance)
$10,000 in addition to rent-free living at CDM HOUSE will be granted to a student from a Bachelor of Computer Science or Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science program who possesses the highest cumulative grade point average.
Diane Sinclair Memorial Fellowship (entrance fellowship)
Established in 2009 by MDM supporter Dr. Yosef Wosk in memory of Dianne Sinclair, this $1,000 fellowship is awarded to the most outstanding female student who has demonstrated exceptional talent and academic achievement in her work submitted during the application process.
OUTtv Scholarship (available to returning students only)
This $5,000 scholarship is awarded to a full-time MDM graduate student whose project and research work intends to explore areas of cultural, ethnic or gender-identity diversity in the lesbian/gay/bi/trans (LGBT) community. Students can either apply for this award or be nominated by faculty, staff or students. Preference will be given to applicants who are self-identified as gay, lesbian, bi, or trans.
In addition to these exciting opportunities offered through CDM, there are many external funding options for students. Examples include scholarships from the Organization of American States, valued at up to $30,000 US per academic year for eligible students, and various options available through government programs and International funders.
