TaxiCity /Manpower, a multidisciplinary group of first and second year graduate students enrolled in the Masters of Digital Media Program, won the Best Student App in the For The Web (FTW) Awards presented at the Make Web Not War Conference in Montreal on May 27.
The team worked with David Eaves, Open Data Vancouver, and VanMaps to create TaxiCity, a project that showcases the power of Silverlight and the Bing Maps API for Microsoft Canada. They also produced a Silverlight game engine, released as an open-source project on CodePlex.
Dashan Yue, represented the team, comprised of Mohamed El Eryan, Seth Marinello, Jordan Braun, Sagar Datta, Dhruv Adhia, and Ryleigh Kostash.
