Dr. Aida Elisabeta Osian | faculty

Aida is currently spearheading the technical language and communication section of the Pre-MDM program. In the recent years, she has been developing and implementing practical and interactive syllabi comprising - Pitching and Presenting, Introduction to Technical Writing, and English for Digital Media. She has extensive experience in teaching English for specialized and academic purposes, she is CELTA certified and holds a certificate of Curriculum Writing for Higher Education from Harvard University.
In the past, she has also worked as a research assistant, as a collaborating teaching assistant with the Department of Foreign Languages for Specific Purposes and as a member of the editing board with the Journal for Communication and Culture at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj Napoca, Romania.
She holds a BA in English and Romanian Literature and Linguistics, an MA in Philosophy, and a Ph.D. in Aesthetics and Literary Theory with the Faculty of Letters of the same university.
In parallel with her teaching experience, her academic research focuses on inter-mediality and remediation as generic concepts with a direct application to the new media-arts and literature. She has presented papers at various conference venues in Europe and Canada and has published in international journals. More recently, she has been shifting towards narrativity in video games, and this has sparked her interest in web and iOS development, motivating her to study and become certified in both these fields.
