Funding

There are several ways to obtain funding to help offset tuition costs.

Scholarships

Many of our students receive a scholarship or other financial assistance throughout the program. For new students, you don't need to apply for scholarships. You are automatically put into the scholarship pool when you apply. Find more information about scholarships here

Technology Scholarship

The Master of Digital Media program is committed to ensuring students have the software and hardware required to successfully complete the program. Students who are enrolled full time and have a minimum CGPA of 3.5 will qualify to receive up to $2,000.00 CAD (lifetime amount) towards hardware/software purchases.

Bursaries

Bursaries are need-based funding offered by SFU per term. You can apply for this in the first week of each term and they are based on your personal, financial situation. Find out more information about bursaries here.

On-Campus Jobs

There are a small number of on-campus jobs and assistant positions. These will be made available during your studies and hours range from 5 to 10 hours per week. Find out more information about campus jobs here.

Off-Campus Jobs

You have the option to work off campus if you meet the eligible requirements. However, we recommend limiting your work hours to a maximum of 10 hours per week to ensure you can prioritize your studies.

Student Loans

Student loans offer financial support for students pursuing higher education. They help cover expenses such as tuition, books, and living costs. We recommend reviewing your eligibility for student loans in your home country.
