Project Lazuli: A Prosocial Initiative to Address Loneliness

Back to Projects

Loneliness is a profound human condition that we all experience, and yet we so often turn a blind eye to this issue. Even though loneliness is universally understood, the condition itself is not. It remains an intimidating subject that people are unsure of how to openly discuss, and about which people may even feel embarrassed to reach out for support.

Project Lazuli is a prosocial initiative created by a multidisciplinary team who believe that games and interactive media can serve a bigger purpose in making the world a better place. It is a trans media product consisting of a game and web community hub designed for teenagers and young adults with the purpose of increasing awareness and empathy about how loneliness affects our lives, and convey a message of emotional equilibrium. It also enables the formation of support communities for loneliness by bridging connections between players and mental health/youth services organizations.
