Gene Endrody

Gene Endrody spent ten years teaching 3D modeling and animation at the Center for Digital Imaging and Sound and as Program head for Digital Animation at the British Columbia Institute of Technology before being coerced into the console games industry. As Technical Art Director at Radical Entertainment, Gene worked on a wide variety of game projects and pitches including CSI:Crime Scene Investigation, The Hulk, Tetris Worlds and Crash Tag Team Racing.

In 2006, Gene teamed with his wife Marnie to turn his basement hobby of creating browser based massive multiplayer games into a cottage industry business. Maid Marian Entertainment is in the business of creating online escapes and brings together an online community of like-minded players. Imagine 3D virtual worlds, where you explore and interact with players around the world, all on a web page. Nominated for a People’s Choice Award at Macromedia's UCON2001 and winner of New Media BC's 2007 PopVox award for both Best Game and Best of British Columbia, Maidmarian.com is currently visited by over 1.5 million unique players a month and hosts over 5000 simutaneous users during peak times.
