Chase Schrader | student
Although Chase only graduated from his Bachelor of Communications in the spring of 2021 his experience in digital media far surpasses that. As a user experience specialist and content creator, Chase has been involved in multiple XR applications and prototypes, one of which took first place in an Adobe Design Jam. He has also applied these skills at a project management level during his capstone project, Humanly and a hosted design jam, Protohype. In addition, he is a visual storyteller, creating videos and photographs that have amassed over a million impressions. Chase is driven to craft highly effective and impactful user experiences as a response to challenging problems in emerging technologies.
Before the MDM program, Chase studied at Mount Royal University where he graduated with his Bachelor of Communications - Information Design and a minor in Marketing. During his time at Mount Royal, he developed and refined his skills in the design process. For his internship, he joined the small but passionate team at the Libary of emerging technologies specialists. Here he created DeciphAR; an augmented reality app for translating Blackfoot and providing information in the Riddell Library and Learning Centre, which was later introduced to additional partner institutions. Furthermore, during his time at the Libary, he also managed and created content in the Experience Lab, a space for everyone to explore emerging technologies. Here, he was able to share his passions, particularly XR, and help others create something that they were proud of. During this time at Mount Royal University, Chase has solidified his standings in the automotive world with his cinematic content published on platforms such as YouTube and Instagram.
Chase's passion for creating impactful digital experiences in emerging technologies has allowed him to develop a wide range of skills in both the design process as well as product management. He hopes to further refine during his time at the MDM program. He believes that the project-based and interdisciplinary environment will further help him apply these in an entrepreneurial setting that he seeks.
