Dr. Rock Leung is a Staff UX Researcher and team lead in Samsung’s global Knox B2B product organization, known for its constant innovation and user-centered design. He leads a team that drives research initiatives informing the design of enterprise mobility solutions used by over 35,000 organizations on more than 150 million devices worldwide. He collaborates closely with stakeholders to plan and conduct research that shapes product strategy and explores new product concepts. His contributions have been recognized with multiple awards for excellence at Samsung.

Based in Vancouver, Rock maintains close ties to local academic communities focused on HCI and design, including those at UBC, SFU, and Emily Carr. He has been an active organizer in several UX communities, such as the VanUE meetup and the Radical Research Summit.

At the Centre for Digital Media, Rock serves as an Assistant Professor (Practitioner Faculty) in the Master of Digital Media program, where he supervises a project team and provides industry mentorship to students. With over a decade of experience, he has supervised nearly 20 co-op students and more than 20 graduate research projects. He consistently prioritizes student growth—both in academia and industry—by creating structured opportunities for professional development, feedback, and reflection. In recognition of his dedication, he received an Outstanding Co-op Supervisor Award from UBC’s Sauder School of Business.

Outside of work, Rock can be found driving his kids to activities, walking his Havapoo puppy, or swimming.
