Rahul Kukreja is a programmer turned animator. He graduated with a Bachelor in Computer Science in 2012 from Melbourne, Australia and then moved to Canada to pursue his dreams of 2D animation at Vancouver Film School. He graduated in 2015 with a Diploma in Classical Animation.
Rahul has produced and directed two short films, ‘Snap, Tap and Whistle’ and ‘Rock N Road’, the former of which was classically animated on paper. These films tell stories that are loose, graphic and playful and through them Rahul strives to create work that stays true to its essence and resonates with the audience’s personal life experiences.
Being trained in both technical and artistic skills, Rahul has enrolled in the MDM program to look for an opportunity where he could be a flexible team member and utilise this wide array of skills. He’s also interested in gaining some experience in working with Unity and learning about UI/UX Design to create rich interactive experiences and in particular, games. Rahul sees himself as someone who is always learning by challenging himself to step out of his comfort zone. In his free time Rahul indulges in abstract painting and is learning the violin.
