Shayan Khorsandi

Shayan is an enthusiastic software engineer and researcher, who graduated with the degree of B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology. He is mainly interested in working on distributed and cloud computing and solutions for improving the performance of software systems. Also, he is passionate about interdisciplinary areas including VR/AR and game development.

Shayan has more than three years of professional experience as a software engineer in the industry. He has worked on three banking projects as the core services for the Central Bank of Iran. He was primarily responsible for the back-end development of the services based on the microservices architecture. Additionally, he was a front-end developer for implementing dashboard and monitoring tools. He was also responsible for DevOps tasks like virtualization and CI/CD.

In addition, he has about five years of research experience in the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence fields with a focus on Machine Learning. He was successful in publishing one conference paper and two technical reports. Furthermore, after participating in various competitions, their team achieved the first and the third places of the International Robocup competitions in the world.

He now intends to prepare himself for his future career by combining his professional and research experiences during the MDM program. He believes that the MDM program is thoroughly per his goals due to its strong connections to industry and gathering students with different backgrounds that can lead to creativity, new ideas, and even startups.
