Thelma is a Brazilian living in Vancouver who has a bachelor's in Communication – Advertising, an MBA in Corporate Communications and a Specialization in Neuroscience and Behaviour. She has more than 20 years of experience in Communication management, focusing on brand management in the last years. After working in advertising agencies, she was dedicated to corporate communications, structuring processes and developing projects involving multiple disciplines and more than 20 countries, aiming to maintain brand consistency in its expression in numerous markets. She worked in brand and reputation management, leading large projects characterized by strategic thinking, business focus, articulation/negotiation with the C-level, corporate education and culture change. In leadership positions, she has established management methods based on individual and group autonomy and collaborative practices to enable the best of each one's potential. Lately, she has directed her professional practice closer to technology, exploring design thinking techniques and understanding the possibility of collaborating with a more humanistic vision to develop technology solutions.
As a curious person and lifelong learner, she is continuously enrolled in different free courses and events. Thelma can speak Portuguese, Spanish, English and some Italian. She is passionate about human behaviour, emerging technologies, and possible futures and constantly seeks to understand the changing world and the effect of new technologies on humankind.
As a CDM student, she looks forward to building digital media solutions that can improve people's lives, exploring creative possibilities, learning innovative methodologies while enhancing her management skills and contributing with her experience.
