Pieteke is a software developer who has a creative background in music composition and music programming. She has held a position as a web designer and front-end developer in the past for a marketing company.
Pieteke holds a BMUS from the University of British Columbia in Music Composition with a Minor in Music Technology. Her passion for software development was ignited as she began her courses in live-music composition. This study integrated music with technology as the music was being dynamically created through sensors, phones and other mediums. Pieteke's development of the i-Phone Piano was documented in the Globe and Mail, Yahoo and other newspapers.
After her degree in Music she began delving into programming, teaching herself front-end code (html, css, javascript) and landing a job within a few months as a Web Designer. She transitioned her way into a junior C# developer within a year and continued to grow her skills. After exposure to the field, Pieteke applied for the Computer Science Second Degree Program at UBC to gain more knowledge and experience. She is currently in her last year where she is focusing on Software Engineering.
After graduation, Pieteke plans to work for a company as a software engineer and perhaps one day working for a music software company to combine her two passions.
