OUTtv Scholarship

The OUTtv Scholarship recognizes the academic achievement of a full-time graduate student enrolled in the Master of Digital Media program, and their proposed research/project work in digital media exploring the areas of cultural, ethnic, or gender-identity diversity in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Preference may be given to applicants who are self-identified as 2SLGBTQIA+. 

Students can either apply for this award, or be nominated by faculty, staff or students of Centre for Digital Media community. Eligible students must demonstrate overall excellence in their academic and creative work and be in good academic standing in the Master of Digital Media Program. Students must submit a proposal, or have completed a project that explores areas in digital media related to the cultural, ethnic, or gender-identity diversity of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Terms of Reference

A scholarship valued at $5,000 is available annually in the Spring or Summer term to a student who fulfills the following criteria: 

  • Admitted into the Master of Digital Media program and in good academic standing.
  • Committed to the advancement of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
  • Submit a proposal, or have completed a project, that explores areas in digital media related to the cultural, ethnic, or gender-identity diversity of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

If more than more suitable candidate is found, the award may be split.

Documentation Requirements

Applicants must submit the following documentation in order to be considered:

  • One letter of explanation summarizing your contribution to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
  • One proposal, or completed project, that explores areas in digital media related to the cultural, ethnic, or gender-identity diversity of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
  • Transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended prior to applying to the Master of Digital Media program.
  • A curriculum vitae summarizing professional achievements and work relevant to the aims of this award.
  • One letter of reference providing evidence of the nominee’s relevant experience to the aims of this award.
