Dr. Code is researcher, educator, and learning scientist at the University of British Columbia. and founding director of the ALIVE research lab. Current assessment approaches are inadequate at identifying how students develop critical thinking, problem solving, and sophisticated scientific reasoning – key 21st century skills. Dr. Code’s research is at the nexus of this challenge, and the overall aim of the ALIVE lab is to explore AR.VR/XR and immersive technologies to assess inquiry learning across subject areas.
