Mike Van der Loos, PhD, is adjunct professor in Mechanical Engineering at UBC, teaching design courses and pursuing research in the CARIS Lab on personal and rehabilitation robotics. His background includes 25 years at the VA Palo Alto Rehabilitation R&D Center in California in rehabilitation robotics and a long-time member of the teaching team of ME310, Stanford University's flagship globally-distributed, industry-sponsored, Mechanical Engineering graduate design course.
