Cindy Shi | student
Cindy is a recent graduate of the University of British Columbia where she completed her Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering.
During her undergrad and Co-op internship, Cindy has gained extensive experience related to digital media, including building mobile and web applications, prototyping interactive multimedia, designing and implementing video games, generating computer graphics, and practicing Agile methodology. In the summer of 2019, Cindy joined CDM as an external Unity developer and was introduced to a cohort full of various backgrounds and diverse skillsets. At the end of the challenging yet rewarding practicum, she knew right away her creative vision could be nurtured here at CDM after her undergraduate studies.
With a passion for storytelling, Cindy is actively involved in the Vancouver International Film Festival. She is on the International Screening Committee, previewing narrative features and documentary features in consideration for the film festival on a monthly basis. She also volunteers as a year-round video editor, working closely with the marketing team and the curators to create sizzle reels, highlights, and preview trailers for the social media and the Vancity Theatre.
Through the MDM program, Cindy aims to integrate and apply her technical, artistic, and communication skills to the solution of real-world problems. She hopes her time at the CDM will help her set up a clear career trajectory in the creative industry.
