Mateo is a Multimedia and Audiovisual Communicator from Bogota, Colombia. He is also an experienced graphic designer and UI designer who loves working with lights and cameras and being outdoors. He enjoys wood construction and is a great handyman.
He graduated with honours in Audiovisual Communication from La Sabana University. During his internship, he had the chance to travel to Sao Paulo, Brazil to work for a production company (Shuffle Video Design) as a cameraman and colorist, for clients like Ford Mexico, Schneider Electric and SC Johnson. After returning to Colombia he continued his studies with a Diploma in Digital Cinematography. Since then, he has worked as a freelancer in camera work and colour grading for corporate videos, short films and music videos. His last project in Colombia before moving to Vancouver was an international project reality show for Italian TV (Rai2).
Mateo really enjoys film projects, however, his other passion is digital media and wants to fuse and amalgamate the two to create interactive experiences, which is one of the things that motivated him to join the MDM program. He wants to learn how to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams and how to create team workflows based on the characteristics of unique projects.
