Samantha Gortarez

Sam Gotarez

At barely 20 years of age and already in a Masters Program, Samantha has decided that 'typical' and 'average' do not apply to her. Freshly graduated from Computer Engineering as top of her class and summa cum laude, Sam is constantly pushing herself to greater heights, and with it, new experiences and challenges. Fluent in English, Spanish, and German, she loves traveling, hiking, and designing very intricate systems.

She believes that projects, work, and most everything in this life are pieces of a grand and complex puzzle, and the best way to solve them is to constantly encounter new experiences, try new methodologies, and finding life's challenges. Having previously worked in Cybersecurity, she's accustomed to constantly shifting contexts, and excels at navigating them.

Sam is at the CDM to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, understand, apply, and challenge industry standards, and flesh out her non-programming skillset. She hopes that the program will provide her with valuable experience, contacts, and expertise that she will need in order to achieve her dream of becoming a gameplay engineer.
