Cassie is a digital media specialist focusing on graphic UI/UX design and holds a Bachelor of Art and Bachelor of Science from Birmingham City University. Through her undergraduate studies, she has gained not only a solid theoretical foundation of design thinking methods but also a good aesthetic of design skills and knowledge of web programming.
During her professional practice in Beijing Haomai Advertising Co., Ltd., she acted as a designer for branding initiatives and participated in the Alipay customer competitive presentation with the team to achieve the brand's cultural values transmission. She has also participated and designed as a UI/UX designer by being involved in many interactive media projects, like AR applications, interactive motion-sensing games, and responsive web applications, to improve people's daily activities through design research and business model innovations. She believes technology trends come and go, but one thing has never changed: technology is always at the service of people. Thus, Cassie would describe herself as a fast-learning generalist with a passion for crafting psychologically sound experiences for users. She has been driven by curiosity and social change through design, technology, and stories.
Cassie's journey to the MDM program came from her desire to learn how to work effectively with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams to keep pace with the rapidly changing technological and globalizing environment. She believes that in doing so, she could become a better team member with a broadened vision to dedicate her skills and knowledge to solving real-world problems.
