Wenyi has an interdisciplinary background; her passions span from education, to business, to learning and technology. She earned her Bachelor of English Education in China and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Leadership at the University of British Columbia.

During her four-year term working in a Chinese public school, she focused on inquiry-based learning and innovatively applied teaching methodology to engage and inspire her students. Meanwhile, she paid close attention to how new technologies impacted students in this digital age, and sought opportunities to bring emerging media into the classroom.

In 2013, Wenyi co-founded a startup and served as a developmental consultant; she worked with her colleagues on the development and customization of novel energy products. Furthermore, her experience as a teaching assistant at UBC Sauder School of Business allowed her to explore the intersection of business, education and technology.

Wenyi was involved in several projects, including curriculum development, picture book design, documentary filmmaking, and integration of virtual technology into education. In her spare time, she likes running marathons, practising taekwondo, writing novels, making short videos and exploring new things. She embraces challenges, viewing them as opportunities to learn and further develop her skills.

She enjoys working on a diverse team of individuals, and values the unique skill set each member brings to the team. She enters the Master of Digital Media program, hoping to continue developing her abilities in team management and project development, while furthering her understanding of the conditions needed for a team to prosper. She is also interested in user experience design and digital learning development design.
