After graduating with a bachelor degree of Engineering (Digital Media Technology) and minor degree of Arts (Journalism) for undergraduate study, Yi applied for MDM program and moved to Vancouver.
She is good at front-end developing, UI design and making videos. With her foundation of some coding languages like Java, C++, HTML, she is learning some back-end languages like Python and C# currently. Additionally, she is polishing her interactive design skills as well.
During her university study, she did internships in various fields: a front-end engineer at Beijing Rising Information Technology Company, a new media editor at Harper's Baazar under Trends Group, a graphic designer at Beijing Clean and Clear Control Company and a part-time actress in some TV series.
In 2016, Yi carried out a research on Android Apps Bugs, aiming to find an approach for automatically detecting Android Apps GUI bugs. After that, she published a thesis named An Empirical Analysis of Android Apps Bug and Automated Testing Approach for Android Apps on IJMUE Journal (IEEE) as the first author.
During her time in MDM program, she wishes to combine her creative skills with her technological skills. She believes that MDM will provide her with a great platform to display her strengths.
