Alyosha Tristan Sønju was born and raised in Missoula, Montana. After high school, he spent five years living in New York City studying film production, earning a BS in Cinematography and Screen Writing from the New School University. He has worked on numerous short films, an independent feature, and a two-year stint editing outdoor television. He has joined the MDM Program in order to examine image and narration within an unfamiliar and intriguing context.
