Chu-Lan, also known as Lance, graduated from the University of British Columbia with a major in Computer Science. During his studies there, he worked briefly as a research assistant, where he was responsible for the software implementation of high dynamic ranged video processing. In addition to his research experience, his team’s design for the school human computer interaction (HCI) design competitions was acclaimed by the industrial and academic judges. This greatly encouraged Lance to pursue and further study in HCI, which is why he joined the MDM. With this unique collaborative learning environment, his  goal is to integrate proper HCI design process into the development of works in digital media. He wishes to make digital media more interactive, and to promote certain behavior intended by the designer as proven possible by research in persuasive technology.
