Amber Shao is a 3D generalist and graphic designer who loves doodling and digital illustration.
Amber holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and Interactive Design & Technology from Simon Fraser University. Meanwhile, she worked as a part-time Communication Assistant at SFU for two years with a focus on graphic design and digital media marketing. Her background in media studies and marketing extends her design ability in understanding the audience and conveying the message effectively.
During her undergraduate studies, she gained project experience with game design, Virtual Reality Experience Design, 3D animation, and multimedia programming. Through these projects, she developed a strong passion for 3D modeling, texturing, and motion graphics. At the same time, she is convinced that mediums such as games and virtual reality experiences can drive real-life change. Thus, she is curious to further explore how new technologies can be designed to inspire and educate.
In the MDM program, Amber hopes to develop immersive experiences that solve real-world problems while advancing her capacity for technical skills as the artist on the team. She wants to become a better team player by collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds and continuously learning from them.
