Cathy Lu | student
Cathy Lu is a UX/UI designer who has bright ideas, exciting thoughts, and extensive skills. Her academic achievements include a bachelor's degree in Informatics Cognate in Digital Art, a minor degree in Oil Painting and Fine Arts from Indiana University, Bloomington. Besides creating tons of oil painting pieces, she also participated in various projects.
Cathy is involved in project management, UX/UI design, and installation art communication. With those experiences, she got familiar with Adobe design suits and all types of rapid prototyping tools such as Axure, Figma, and Sketch.
In 2018, Lu was responsible for interactive art and installation design for Shanghai Hirain Digital Technology Co, Ltd in China. She concentrated on storyboard drafting, theme and entertainment design, and the projects' visual art communications design aspects; she also took charge of communicating and corresponding with clients and teammates in different departments and with different supervisors.
Lu worked as a visual communication designer in 2016 for GOLS Technology. She was responsible for the design issues of the advertising materials, PowerPoint presentations, and also GOLS website and publicity materials.
During the year of 2018-2019, Lu worked on a design and research project which aims to develop and design a VR game for ICU patients in Indianapolis IU health hospital to relieve pain for patients. Meanwhile, doctors can estimate the health and mental status of patients through their feedback on the game.
Cathy Lu enrolled in the Master of Digital Media program; her focus mostly will be learning further knowledge of UX/UI design and project management. She successfully worked for many industry clients like Samsung and the UBC Faculty of Medicine. She is looking for an opportunity to work for an emerging technology organization to solve real-world problems.
