Kejia Xu completed her undergrad in Industrial Design at East China University of Science and Technology. In addition to learning graphic design and the fundamentals of product design she has also developed an interest in the service system for products. Kejia Xu aims to become a hybrid designer in the future, to transform her ideas about art, technology, and functionality into a reality.

Through several college-level projects, she fell in love with the process of enhancing user satisfaction. Also, her experience in user-studies inspired the invention of her award-winning Coffee 100% and Drone Ray. Both these products won her the “2017 Red Dot Award”. To gain more practice in UXD, Kejia Xu interned at Shanghai Moma, in 2017, where she designed cultural and creative souvenirs for the Shanghai History Museum.

In addition to her interest in design, she is passionate about Chinese culture. A passion that has translated into a Children’s book of Chinese songs. She has painted 100 paintings for this book which is set to be published in 2018.

Through her past experiences Kejia Xu has learned the fundamentals of product design, graphic design, prototyping, user testing, 3D and 2D softwares, Adobe Creative Suite, etc. She wants to build on her technical expertise and focus on high-quality user experience, taking a more user-centric approach to everything she does.

The MDM seems like the perfect platform for her to achieve this aim of creating intelligent digital products that please users and learning from peers with similar interests and complementing skillsets.
