A graduate of IT Management program at British Columbia Institute of Technology and Professional Communications at Royal Roads University in Victoria, Mahdiyar calls Vancouver home where he has worked as a Marketing Communication Consultant and a designer for the last few years.

Mahdiyar is passionate about finding creative (and uncommon) ways to use digital technologies to promote positive social change. His interest lies in exploring the social, cultural and philosophical implications of design in everyday life. He has worked as a writer, designer and marketing consultant for The La Source paper, the only bilingual (French) print media in Vancouver operating since 1999. He is the founder and director of Biazi Media, a full-cycle creative design and marketing studio specialized in branding, web design, social media integration, web marketing, content management systems, print design, event marketing and promotion.

As an avid cinema lover with particular interest in adventure drama, sci-fi and epic genres, he participates in various film festivals and theatre productions in town, every chance he gets. In the past, he has participated in organizing a number of cultural, educational and charity events in the community. As a designer, he has collaborated with The Laurier Institution, a national, non-profit organization in Vancouver promoting mutual understanding and cultural dialogue in Canada. Mahdiyar has also worked as an art director, multimedia designer and sound engineer for a number of art and cultural events in Vancouver.

He is hoping to broaden his knowledge on collaborative and multidisciplinary digital media and further explore the emerging media as a tool to promote positive social change.
