Vic Ong | student
Vic acquired his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Minnesota but pivoted to software engineering shortly after. The career shift was made possible on his first job at Walt Disney World when he had the opportunity to work on an attraction failure detection software project as a fullstack developer. Towards the end of the project, he immediately latched onto the goal to create software products that provide great financial and social values for society.
With his newfound determination to develop meaningful products, Vic pursues relevant projects and work to add to his portfolio such as a student achievement predictor, a healthcare licensing management system, an e-commerce shop builder, and a solar energy impact investing platform. Throughout his 5 years of working in the industry, he has gained extensive experience in digital media, including developing fullstack applications, architecting software systems, designing user experience, and practicing the agile methodology.
Through the MDM program, Vic aims to utilize his technical and creative problem-solving skills to learn game design and further develop his creative skills. He hopes his journey in CDM will set him on a good trajectory in the creative tech industry.
