Grace is currently finishing up their BA in computer science at UBC. Prior to joining the MDM students on their project team, Grace did an 8 month co-op at Shaw Communications. There, Grace worked as a junior software developer and gained exposure to large-scale agile.
Grace’s curiosity in digital media emerged naturally through their arts degree. Throughout secondary school and bleeding into university, Grace volunteered with numerous theatre productions in tech, including Theatre Under the Stars. In first year, Grace was a part of ArtsOne, where students studied a mix of philosophy, history, and English literature.
Armed with this curious background, they joined computer science with questions on how technology could be used in a more interdisciplinary and humanities-focused manner. At the CDM, Grace hopes to not only further improve on their technical skills in platforms such as Unity, but to also gain a better understanding on how to create user-centric products.
