Conversational AI for Ecological Restoration with Accenture
Back to ProjectsWildlight is an AI-powered restoration assistant designed to support urban and suburban gardeners in translating environmental goals into practical, site-specific action. While there is strong public interest in advancing biodiversity and climate resilience, most individuals lack the ecological expertise required to design and sustain native habitats effectively. Existing resources often provide generalized guidance without the contextual precision or long-term maintenance planning necessary for meaningful ecological outcomes.
In partnership with Accenture, our team is developing a web-based platform that converts user objectives and site conditions into a structured restoration prescription. Moving beyond conventional conversational AI, Wildlight generates data-driven frameworks that include regionally appropriate species recommendations and phased seasonal implementation timelines. The initial pilot is focused on Southern Ontario to ensure recommendations are evidence-based, locally grounded, and testable. At the same time, the platform architecture is built for global scalability. The concept has generated interest across Accenture teams in multiple regions, reflecting broader international demand for accessible, AI-enabled ecological planning tools.
The platform prioritizes clarity and usability, transforming complex ecological variables into a structured, step-by-step action plan. Users progress from an initial site assessment to a persistent, accessible roadmap that can be referenced throughout implementation. By integrating localized resources and supporting progress tracking, Wildlight enables individuals to move beyond intention and contribute to biodiversity restoration through informed, measurable action.
