Cozy Mobile Game with Buffalo Buffalo

Buffalo Buffalo has tasked the team with exploring and prototyping a cozy, idle mobile game experience centered around bird photography, collection, and emotional engagement. Many existing hypercasual mobile games prioritize short-term retention through repetitive mechanics and reward loops, often resulting in low emotional attachment and limited long-term player interest. At the same time, there is a growing audience seeking slower-paced, relaxing games that emphasize creativity, self-expression, and meaningful progression. 

The proposed project, Birdseed Mobile, aims to reimagine the spirit of Birdseed VR as a mobile-first experience. Players take on the role of a bird photographer and influencer, interacting with birds through gentle mechanics such as setting up habitats, attracting birds, taking photos, and building a personal bird journal. The game focuses on short, low-pressure play sessions while encouraging long-term engagement through collection systems, visual discovery, and light social-style feedback. 

The prototype will explore innovative interaction mechanics and mini-games that go beyond traditional idle systems, including rhythm-driven experiences and real-time interactions. Through iterative prototyping and user testing, the project will investigate how cozy game mechanics can foster emotional connection and sustained engagement in mobile contexts.

In addition to delivering a playable prototype, the project will generate research insights, design documentation, and user testing results that can inform future development. If successful, Birdseed Mobile could serve as a strong foundation for further production, IP exploration, or commercialization as a unique cozy mobile game aligned with Buffalo Buffalo’s creative brand.
