Low Tide Properties’ Installation

Back to Projects

Our team is tasked with addressing the challenge of transforming South Flats into a vibrant hub for creativity and innovation. Currently, the area is in transition, lacking engaging, authentic spaces that connect locals, workers, students, and visitors. The community needs a beacon that reflects Vancouver’s unique energy and that can also be a place for exploration and interaction.

To solve this, we will design and deliver an interactive installation that combines technology, storytelling, and community-driven design. Our approach will center on creating a space that not only attracts but also retains visitors, giving them a reason to return and engage. Inspired by successful projects like King’s Cross in London and TeamLab installations in Japan, we’ll focus on blending cutting-edge technology with a localized aesthetic to reflect Vancouver’s unique identity.

We’ll employ user-centred design methods, stakeholder interviews, and site-specific research to guide our creative process. Leveraging immersive technologies such as AI, AR/VR, interactive lighting, and digital displays, we will craft an experience that feels both forward-thinking and deeply connected to the community.

The anticipated outcome is a playable spatial installation that acts as a beacon for the South Flats neighbourhood. This installation will be a catalyst for cultural activation, offering a sustainable and inclusive space that inspires creativity and connection day and night. By addressing community needs and reflecting the values of Vancouver, this project will firmly position South Flats as a destination for innovation and engagement.
