Rongrong (Jessica) Zhang | student
Rongrong(Jessica) Zhang is pursuing a Master of Digital Media in Creative Industries degree at the Centre for Digital Media. Jessica graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University, where she specialized in graphic communication design, visual culture, and business management. Her previous studies and working experience allowed her the advantage of honing her skills with various digital applications and software. This has entailed analyzing and gaining familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and 3D modelling software like Sketchup, and Rhino.
Developing technical dexterity with these platforms paved the way to numerous occupational experiences situated in the digital content development field. An optimal example of this insinuation was the post she held as a Visual Communications Supporter at Ryerson University’s Real Institute, a progressive facility geared towards accommodating incoming international students. As a Visual Communications Supporter, she endeavoured to bolster the outreach of promotional content by utilizing web analytics tools, Adobe Creative Suite, and Premiere Pro—the latter of which was to oversee the making of video-based materials. Refining her practicality with content creation and navigating digital landscapes at the Real Institute enhanced my vision of the industry as a Visual Content & Online Community Coordinator at Elitestar King Reality. Predominantly in charge of supervising social media content production, she exercised her inherent leadership aptitude to guide the team in developing multimodal marketing material. Her success with curating user-friendly content was of utmost significance and was made possible by capitalizing on my knowledge of SEO techniques.
In the MDM program, Jessica worked as an artist and a designer. Studying in the MDM program, she also developed a strong passion for programming and product/project management. She believes the MDM program possesses a breadth of resources to offer that will pave the way to a brighter future, allowing her to enhance her knowledge and skills in the digital content world.
