Back to Projects

The Trailblazrs are back with phase IV! With seed funding from Kensington Capitol in the summer of 2018, the Trailblazrs project began in Summer 2018. After a successful pilot was tested and now with more support funding from the Discovery Foundation that allowed it to be passed down to the C13's, the Trailblazrs project is ready and it's time for the final launch!

Trailblazrs is an interactive web-based portal to inspire women to become entrepreneurs in technology and/or investors in technology ventures. The purpose of the Trailblazrs project is to help close the significant gender gap which currently exists in the number of women-led technology companies that are successful in securing financing, and the number of women investors in venture capital and other areas of finance with actual investment decision-making power. Allowing women and men from all sorts of backgrounds within the tech and finance industry, to share their stories and talk about their experiences aspiring new entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. Unlike other projects, like Sheryl Sandberg's Lean In that seek to inspire and empower young women, Trailblazrs is focused on presenting the everyday and often gritty stories of successful British Columbia women who have neither achieved enormous wealth, fame or celebrity status.

As a team, we are driven to build the platform and bring the Trailblazrs community closer together and make meaningful connections!
